An Encouraging Thought for the New Year!

Since I’m an alumni of Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, I receive a monthly newsletter from President Bill Robinson.  He is often profound, and I like to share his personal thoughts when I find them especially meaningful and encouraging.

This month’s writing was both pithy and profound.  Here’s a short excerpt:

“I’m plotting and praying for a great year in a great decade. We need an outbreak of redemption to blanket the world. It is never too late for redemption – to turn hunger into health, victimization into justice, waste into productivity, hurt into kindness, strife into peace, decay into restoration and evil into good. That’s what God did for us. ‘…[I]t was not with perishable things such as silver and gold you were redeemed…but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish…’ (1 Peter 1: 18).”

I like that.  “An outbreak of redemption.”  Can you imagine how things could change around you with that kind of revival?  Hope you’ll join me in praying for just that in this horribly broken and lost world all around us. We can’t change the world; God can!
